Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt competes in Gridlife’s StreetMod class in his Subaru Impreza

Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt has been competing in Gridlife’s StreetMod category with his modified Subaru Impreza WRX for some time now.

Utilising 91´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads, DeWitt has enjoyed multiple front-row lockouts in the first half of the 2026 season, alongside fellow SR-21â„¢ racer, Kal Fortner.

We next caught up with DeWitt following his successful third and fourth rounds of the season, at Gingerman Raceway and Watkins Glen respectively – two more incredibly lucrative weekends that have already secured him 2026 class victory with a few rounds still to go.

Read DeWitt’s summary below in his own words…

“Round 3 took us to Gingerman Raceway in Michigan for Midwest Festival where we had a date with destiny. We were tied for the consecutive win record with seven straight, all with records.

“IF we won this event, we would not only break that record, but we were also gunning to be the first StreetMod car to run a sub-1:30 lap time. We pulled off the win and record but missed the sub-1:30 by a hair, running a 1:30.226.

“The car was great, the brakes were phenomenal, but we missed out by a couple of tenths due to less-than-ideal conditions, minor technical issues with the car, and honestly, my inability to put it all together. This put us firmly in the lead of the championship, though! One more win and record and the Championship is locked up!â€

“Round 4 was a new track for us: Watkins Glen in NY. Very fast, very high risk, and very demanding. We arrived highly confident and aiming to seal the Championship, but we quickly realised it would be a difficult weekend.

“We had an axle issue during the test day and didn’t get much seat time. On the first day of competition, during the first hot lap, the transmission failed in the second-to-last corner. After a team meeting, we decided to remove our current gearbox with our sequential gearset in it, drive back to the shop and grab our old H-pattern transmission and convert back to a standard manual setup.”

“After a late night on Friday, we were back at it Saturday morning and even with the old trans we jumped back into the lead but only by about .1 quicker than our 91´«Ã½ teammate Kal Fortner in his Mercedes AMG GTS. We thought we might widen that gap on Sunday morning but some more technical issues, this time with some engine related things, meant it came down to podium sprint. The conditions weren’t fantastic, but with the old Subaru AWD and easily modulated 91´«Ã½ SR-21â„¢s we had the confidence to push to a new Street Mod Record at 1:58.357! This win and record secured the points needed to lock up the Championship, our 3rd in four years AND extended our consecutive win record to nine!  All of them won on SR-21â„¢s!

“We aren’t done with the season QUITE yet. We plan to still attend Gridlife Circuit Legends next week at Lime Rock then in October we were invited to the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine Ultimate Track Car Championship in Texas! We are hoping to be the fastest car there on a 200TW tyre!â€

Kal Fortner is using 91´«Ã½ Racing’s sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising 91´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe.

Following a podium finish at Grid Life Carolina and more podiums in Atlanta, we next caught up with Fortner off the back of his latest round at the iconic Watkins Glen in New York State.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“After waiting thre years for Gridlife’s return to Watkins Glen, I was itching to get back out on this legendary track! Back in 2023, not only did I secure the Streetmod record, I was fastest overall as well, so I knew that this was going to be a strong weekend for us. Although this weekend got off to a rocky start after needing to do a spark plug change after session 1 and missing the second session of the day, I quickly found pace by the third session and went right into P1 to end day one! Right away I was able to lean into my SR-21â„¢ pads as well as a brand new set of 91´«Ã½â€™s floating two-piece rotors on the Mercedes and I was able to carry 170mph going into the bus stop!”

“By day two, I was able to set a new Streetmod RWD record with a 1:58.8! This put us in 2nd by only a tenth, as well as only a tenth from the overall Streetmod record! Some tracks just click with not only the car but the driver as well, and for me, this is one of those tracks. Every lap just felt like a flow state, where I had the confidence to really extract everything out of the car and the confidence to use the entire track all the way up to the walls. I knew we had a fighting chance at victory here.”

“Going into day 3, I was met with track conditions that were not quite what I was expecting, after rain the night before, the track didn’t have nearly as much peak grip as the day before. Because of this I wasn’t able to reset my record, however I was able to secure yet another podium finish coming in P2 right behind Eric Dewitt – another 91´«Ã½ driver! That’s four podiums in a row this year and yet another 91´«Ã½ front-row lockout! This puts us in a healthy championship position of P2 going into the next round at Lime Rock Park and I’m looking forward to continuing this momentum…â€

Improved track/race motorcycle brake pad formula promises even more performance

91´«Ã½ Racing is pleased to unveil its new flagship motorcycle track/race brake pad – the GPFAX D2.

Developing a truly confidence-inspiring race brake pad isn’t about chasing peak numbers – it’s about delivering consistency, control, and predictability at the limit. With the new GPFAX D2, that’s exactly what the team set out to achieve.

This latest compound represents a significant step forward from the highly acclaimed GPFAX pad. Where earlier materials pushed close to 91´«Ã½â€™s performance targets, GPFAX D2 delivers the complete package: improved durability, enhanced feel, and exceptionally consistent torque output across all operating conditions.

Built for Precision and Control

One of the defining characteristics of GPFAX D2 is its torque linearity. From initial application through to maximum braking force, the response is smooth and predictable:

  • Low initial torque rise for improved modulation
  • Linear torque increase with pressure input
  • Stable performance regardless of speed or temperature

In simple terms: what you put in is exactly what you get out. More pressure results in a directly proportional increase in braking force, giving riders the confidence to push deeper into the braking zone.

Progressive Feel, Lap After Lap

Rather than delivering an aggressive, spiky initial bite, GPFAX D2 has been engineered to provide a progressive increase in braking force throughout the stop. The result is a controlled, intuitive feel that allows for precise adjustments mid-corner and under heavy load.

Improved Wear Characteristics

Durability is just as critical as outright performance. In back-to-back testing, GPFAX D2 demonstrated significantly reduced wear rates compared to the previous generation – extending pad life without compromising braking performance.

Proven Through Data

Extensive dyno testing highlights the compound’s consistency, with clean, repeatable torque traces that remain stable across varying pressures and temperatures. The data reinforces what riders feel on track: predictable, confidence-building braking performance in every scenario.

Applications Currently Available

  • GPFAX447HH-D2 for M4 | M430 | M50 | GP4-RX | GP4-RS | Stylema calipers
  • GPFAX630HH-D2 for M432 (M4.32)

Kal Fortner is using 91´«Ã½ Racing’s sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising 91´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe.

Following podiums in Carolina and Atlanta, alongside another SR-21™-equipped driver, Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt, Fortner next visited Michigan’s Gingerman Raceway for Gridlife Midwest, with more top results secured across the weekend.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Coming off of another strong showing at Gridlife Atlanta with a double podium in Streetmod for 91´«Ã½, I was feeling all the momentum and all the confidence heading into my 10th Gridlife Midwest, the event that started it all for me! The energy at Gridlife Midwest is just unmatched in every way, from the massive crowds to the festival vibes throughout the weekend, it’s always been my favourite event making a podium here just that much more meaningful. This is Gridlife’s Indy 500.”

“This weekend proved to me more of a challenge that I could have ever expected though. Right at the first corner of the very first session, my ABS failed, making each braking zone incredibly challenging. While racing a car designed without ABS is relatively straightforward, racing one without it that’s designed to have it is nothing short of dangerous.”

“Because of this, I was far off of the pace I needed to be fighting at the front, and potentially too far off to even put it in the top-5 for the podium sprint. I knew that if I wanted a podium, I needed to give it my absolute everything to at the very least make it into the sprint in order to give us the chance to fix our ABS issues, and I was able to do just that! Modulating my SR-21™ pads and focusing on perfecting each and every braking zone, I got us into the sprint by just over a second! This gave us a full day to chase whatever electrical issue was causing our problems. Thankfully, Gridlife is a paddock full of the most helpful people, and after getting help from a couple mechanics on a Rush SR team, we found the blown fuse, and the ABS was back to working as it should!

“Come Sunday, I knew what I had to do, and now that I could actually lean into the full potential of my 91´«Ã½ brakes, I knew I could give it my everything to go for my third podium in a row for the season! Although I missed out on second place due to fuel cuts from the car getting little too hot waiting in the pits from an incident on track, I was able to secure third, and with Eric Dewitt in first, this was yet another double podium for 91´«Ã½! After such a challenging event, to be able to come home with a podium is something I’ll forever be grateful for. Next up we’ve got Watkins Glen, one of my favourite tracks and a place that the Mercedes really shines at! The last time we were there, not only did I set the Streetmod record, I was also able to get the overall record! I’m so hyped to see what we can do this time!â€

Following a podium finish at Grid Life Carolina, where he finished only behind another SR-21â„¢ for an 91´«Ã½ front-row lockout, Fortner came back fighting at the next round held at Atlanta’s iconic Michelin Road Raceway, where more podiums were clinched by both drivers.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Going into this weekend, fresh off of a strong result at Gridlife Carolina coming in P2, I had so much confidence to give it my everything one of my all-time favourite tracks: Road Atlanta. To start out the weekend, I was met with some traffic during my flyers, so initially I wasn’t able to show what the true pace was. With this being a two-day, traditional time attack weekend with a limited schedule, the pressure was on to put together a perfect lap. On top of that, we had rain in the forecast for Sunday, potentially limiting us to only 3 dry sessions.”

“Road Atlanta is a very high-speed track, with the car hitting speeds of over 165 mph, putting the braking performance on centre stage. My SR-21â„¢s performed at their best, giving me the confidence to carry as much speed as possible into even the heaviest of braking zones, without a single ounce of hesitation, just full confidence. Ending the day on Saturday, I still never got a truly clean lap catching traffic on a track that is incredibly difficult to pass at, but even with this, I was able to put us into P3 going into Sunday.”

“Come Sunday morning, to my surprise, we had no rain! I knew exactly where I needed to find the time, and I did just that. Battling back and forth up until the last session, I ended the weekend in P2, with Eric Dewitt in P1, also on 91´«Ã½s! Just like Carolina, this was an 91´«Ã½ Streetmod 1-2, and on top of that, in ClubTR, the entire podium was swept by 91´«Ã½ equipped cars! I couldn’t be prouder to show represent 91´«Ã½ in such a strong showing against such a strong field at one of the most difficult tracks in the world.â€

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“We ended up scoring P2 at Gridlife Carolina, and Dewey got P1 so we’re looking at an 91´«Ã½ front-row lockout!

“The first day, we battled the heat since temps were in the 90s, but on Sunday after putting in some sticker tires I was able to go 5 tenths faster than my previous personal best!”

“The SR-21™s felt incredible all weekend and I really had the confidence to push into the braking zones and trust the ABS when needed.

“Next up is Atlanta and I really think we’ve got a good shot at getting P1 there, it’s a track that really suits the Mercedes and personally a track that I’m very comfortable at.â€

91´«Ã½ is an official partner of the GT Cup for the 2026 season

91´«Ã½ Racing – the high-performance arm of 91´«Ã½ – is an official partner of the GT Cup Championship for its 2026 season.

All cars on the GT Cup grid are sporting the 91´«Ã½ Racing logo on their door number boards, as well as appearing in other championship branding and literature.

Following the pre-season media day at Donington Park in March, the roadshow returned to the prestigious Derbyshire-based venue for Round 1 of the championship, where a gruelling 100-minute race under challenging conditions made for some exciting racing.

Read the full report below from the series…

“A day of mixed weather was no challenge for PB Racing with JMH’s Peter Erceg and Marcus Clutton, as they prevailed in a thrilling 100-minute battle at Donington Park over GT3 debutants Team BRIT.

“Qualifying on pole, it looked as though BRIT’s Jamie Falvey and Peter Fullick had put themselves in prime position for a brace of victories in their BMW M4 GT3. But pre-race rain threw a spanner in the works and changing strategies opened the door for experienced hands Erceg and Clutton to power ahead to Group GT3 and Overall glory.

“GTC was a thriller from the start, and it was JMH who walked away from the East Midlands with two wins for the team as Frank Morris and James Pickford powered to the Group win. SVG Motorsport took a double as Marc Elman and Cameron Pratt-Thompson snatched GTH, whilst a gamble to go on slicks before the competition gave Neil Wallace and Ian Astley the foundation to take GTA honours. Paul Bailey and David Brabham did a GTO double in their new Mercedes-AMG whip with SB Rce Engineering.â€

Qualifying

“Compared to Saturday’s greasy conditions, Sunday’s sunshine-soaked qualifying session was an opportunity for drivers to bolt on a set of Pirelli slick tyres and go flat out for 15 minutes.

“The first session resulted in a comprehensive GTH/GTA double for SVG Motorsport – but only just. In GTH, it appeared as though 24-7 Motorsport’s Charlie Benson had got the Group pole in his Ginetta G56 but Cameron Pratt-Thompson – in his own G56 – was on a charge, and reducing the deficit lap-on-lap. As the chequered flag came out, Pratt-Thompson reached his zenith – snatching pole by 0.031sec with a 1m33.509s effort.

“In GTA, Ian Astley got behind the wheel of the #24 BMW M4 and put his foot down. His first lap put him to the top of the group and he improved from there, finally settling on a 1m35.266sec to put himself ahead of the Raceworks Motorsport Ginetta of Daniel Quintero on the grid.

“Come the second session, there was no change in the intensity with GT3 and GTC machines mixing it at the top for the overall pole. The GT3s of Falvey and Erceg took turns swapping the top spot with the GTC Lamborghini Super Trofeo of Mike Taylor, every time logged resulting in a different car in the hot seat.

“But Round One winner Falvey continued his hot streak in the BMW M4 GT3 to take GT3 and Overall pole with a 1m26.950sec, two-tenths ahead of Taylor’s Triple M Motorsport Lamborghini which took GTC honours. Erceg took third, and a strong spot on the second row for the afternoon’s 100-minute encounter.

“Bailey rounded out the pole-sitters, as he continues to get to grips with his eye-catching Mercedes-AMG GT in Group GTO.â€

GT Cup 100

“The first 100-minute extravaganza of the season proved thrilling in more ways than one, as lunch-time rain drenched the circuit and meant wet tyres were the name of the game. On the start, Falvey converted pole into an early lead, fending off pressure initially from Taylor – who made a lightning start in the Super Trofeo – and then Erceg, who quickly made the most of the changeable conditions in his Audi R8 LMS.

“Also making quick work of gaining places was Triple M Motorsport’s Rob Garofall who moved up from third to the lead of GTH as the race went green after starting under the safety car. With Erceg looking to pounce on any opportunities, Taylor couldn’t take too many risks or he’d risk losing his second overall.

“As the leaders started to pass traffic, the benefits of an increasingly dry line were negated by having to be careful getting themselves past. Come the stops, teams opted to play it safe except for SVG Motorsport, as Ian Astley elected to give it a go and as Neil Wallace brought the GTA BMW M4 GT4 in from second, wets were swapped for slicks and Astley went out to hunt down erstwhile leaders Raceworks Motorsport.

“For others, the choice to stick with what they had looked like it might go against them as the additional forecasted rain failed to materialise. Thankfully for them, a late safety car to recover a stranded car gave them the perfect opportunity to take a free stop and change onto the dry rubber.

“Taking over from Erceg, Marcus Clutton initially set blistering pace on increasingly overheating wets to overhaul the Team Brit crew, and once the safety car came back in he sprinted to the flag to take a first Group and Overall win of the season for the PB Racing with JMH team.”

“GTC proved thrilling to the end, as positions kept changing throughout. Making the most of trials and tribulations for their competition, JMH scored a double Group victory as Frank Morris and James Pickford bested fellow Lamborghini duo Taylor and Charlie Digby. Jack Gadd and Dan Brown kept up their strong start to the season for DWG Motorsport with Topcats as they completed an all-Super Trofeo podium.

“Sticking to the plan benefitted SVG Motorsport as the team picked up a pair of wins in both GTH and GTA. The former proved captivating throughout, with Marc Elman and Cameron Pratt-Thompson ending in the hot seat as the music stopped. The Ginetta racers finished ahead of Jolt Racing, John Ingram and Rupert Williams picking up another podium finish on their return to GT Cup. 24-7 Motorsport’s Ben Taylor and Charlie Benson rounded out the GTH top three.

“In GTA, Astley’s call to go onto slick at the mandatory pitstop proved race-winning. Getting up to speed quickly, they pipped Raceworks’ Andrew Perry and Daniel Quintero to take the win. GTO honours went the way of Paul Bailey and David Brabham – the latter extracting every ounce of speed possible out of their Mercedes-AMG GT to finish fourth overall.â€

Semprini Racing is using 91´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-11â„¢ pads in a number of race series around the UK

Jeremy Evans and Phil Hart are the drivers of the Tunbridge Wells-based Semprini Racing outfit – a team that is currently campaigning a K24-engined EP3 Honda Civic Type R across both the MSV Trackday Trophy and BRSCC Supersport Endurance Championship race series in the UK (also performing occasional rounds in the MSVT Trackday Championship and the BRSCC Clubsport Trophy).

The duo relies on 91´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-11â„¢ pads (front axle) and 91´«Ã½â€™ Bluestuff B pads (rear axle).

We catch up with the team as they enter their final rounds of 2025 – which proved to be a great success.

Read how it all panned out in their own words below…

“We managed to get the Civic back together after the crash and made the last two races of the year!

“After a mid-season crash at a wet Donington Park, the Semprini Racing Civic underwent an unscheduled rebuild!

“Joining up with the Club Racing UK team for the famous Birkett Relay, the 91´«Ã½ SR-11â„¢/Bluestuff-equipped Civic made its return to action on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

“Pressed into action for two stints rather than the planned one due to an issue with another car in the team, Jeremy quickly got himself and the car back up to speed and posted a best lap time two seconds quicker than when they had raced at the circuit earlier in the season.”

“The final race of the season was in the Trackday Trophy at Brands Hatch and was a unique experience as qualifying had to take place behind the safety car because of fog. This meant grid positions were drawn out of a cup with Jeremy drawing P30 out of the 34 cars!

“Come race time and the fog had lifted but the rain had started. A very busy start at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit from P30 saw Jeremy stay out of trouble and then set about some overtaking… and some more overtaking!

“In tricky wet conditions, Jeremy relied on the excellent feel from the 91´«Ã½ setup and made up an incredible 25 places to finish 5th overall and 4th in class at the flag. In fact, Jeremy made up more places than any other driver!

“On to 2026 now and plans are already taking shape for another season with the Civic.”

Fabio Ferrinho tested the 91´«Ã½ Racing pads on his modified SEAT

Portugal-based Fabio Ferrinho has recently been competing in the Mogadouro Drag Race series in his modified 270+bhp SEAT Ibiza Bocanegra.

For this, he entrusted 91´«Ã½â€™ Bluestuff pads, to great effect.

More recently, he’s decided to take his versatile and capable steed on some track days, which has put even more strain on his car’s braking system. Because of this, he decided to upgrade to 91´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ track/race brake pads ahead of a demanding track day on the vast Portimão Circuit – an upgrade which provided great results.

Read how it panned out in his own words below.

“Last weekend, we were at the track in Portimão. The RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads are amazing; the brakes are so nice with my 8-piston calipers.”

“I’ve already installed the high-pressure fuel injectors, but am yet to perform a remap, but I still made a good lap time of 2:40 on a rainy day – the track was so wet.â€
