鈥淚t was a frustrating but ultimately positive weekend, with plenty of setbacks to overcome and valuable championship points secured.鈥�

Heat 1

鈥淪tarting from P9, I made a strong launch and gained three places to run P6 into Turn 1. Unfortunately, the kart suffered from significant understeer for the opening five laps, making it difficult to defend. As a result, I dropped back to P14.

鈥淎s the kart’s handling gradually improved, I was able to push forward once again, recovering several positions to finish the race in P11.鈥�

Heat 2

鈥淟ining up P19 on the grid, I made another excellent start, gaining four places before Turn 1. On lap two, karts #7 and #24 came together entering the Bus Stop, allowing me to move up to P13.

鈥淎fter closing the gap to P12, I picked up the slipstream down the start/finish straight before diving to the inside into Turn 1 to complete the pass. A retirement further ahead promoted me another position.

鈥淟ater in the race, I got a strong run on P11 down the straight and pulled off an outside pass around Turn 1 to move into the top ten. Shortly afterwards, the race leader’s chain came off, promoting me to P9 with two laps remaining.

鈥淯nfortunately, I continued to struggle getting a good exit onto the start/finish straight. Losing momentum allowed another kart to pass me at the end of the straight, meaning I crossed the line in P10.鈥�

Heat 3

鈥淭he opening lap was eventful. Heading into the Bus Stop, I was sideswiped by another driver. Fortunately, the kart that hit me spun off, and I was able to cut back underneath to avoid being collected and stay on the circuit. Although I didn’t lose any positions, I did lose valuable time.

鈥淚 managed to recover quickly, catching back up to second place and applying pressure for several laps. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn’t find a way through, and in trying to make the move I lost momentum, dropping back to P5.

鈥淥n lap eight, disaster struck when I was punted into the gravel at Turn 1. Keeping the throttle pinned, I managed to drive out of the gravel trap and rejoin the race, but I had fallen to P12 after losing around seven seconds.

鈥淔rom there, I put my head down, caught P11, made the pass, and continued charging through the field to finish P9 on the road. After the race, a penalty for a kart ahead promoted me to P8.鈥�

Final

鈥淪tarting the final from P9, I spent much of the race holding position. Once again, I struggled to carry enough speed onto the start/finish straight, making it difficult to attack the karts ahead.

鈥淲ith one lap remaining, a retirement in front promoted me to P8, which is where I ultimately finished.鈥�

Weekend Summary

鈥淥verall, it was a frustrating weekend. Saturday was disrupted by carburettor and fuel issues, while on Sunday we continued to struggle with our drive onto the start/finish straight, costing valuable time throughout the races.

鈥淒espite the challenges, we fought back consistently in every race, salvaged solid championship points, and leave the weekend sitting 5th in the championship standings.

Super 4 2026 British Championship Round 3: Rowrah

鈥淎fter a frustrating Saturday practice, we headed into race day hoping that a fresh set of tyres would transform the kart. Throughout Saturday, nothing we tried seemed to improve the setup, and we struggled to find the right balance. Fortunately, fitting the new tyres on Sunday made a significant difference. During the morning warm-up, the kart immediately felt much better. The increased grip allowed me to carry more speed, and I found myself using a gear higher through every corner compared to the previous day. While this was encouraging, it also meant that heading into Heat 1 I effectively had to relearn the circuit, as the kart’s handling characteristics had changed dramatically from Saturday.鈥�

Heat 1 (Grid: 2^nd)

鈥淲e didn’t get the start we were hoping for and lost several positions heading into the first corner. It then took around four laps for both the kart and myself to fully adapt to the new tyres and find a rhythm. Once settled in, our pace improved considerably, and I was able to stay right on the back of the driver running in sixth place for the remainder of the race. We crossed the line in seventh position, providing a solid foundation for the rest of the day.鈥�

Heat 2听(Grid: 8^th)

鈥淪tarting from 13th on the grid, I moved up to 11th by lap eight following some early attrition ahead. Kart 11 was tapped at high speed on the straight and was sent into the barriers, while kart 56 also retired on the same lap, promoting me up the order. By half distance, there was a long train of karts running from fifth to twelfth, all closely matched for pace. The key moment came approaching one of the hairpins, where three karts ahead became involved in an incident. I reacted quickly, diving to the inside and avoiding the crash completely while gaining several positions in the process. That move elevated me to eighth place, and I was able to maintain that position until the chequered flag.鈥�

Heat 3 (Grid: 16^th)

鈥淚 made a strong getaway and climbed to 14th within the opening two laps. The momentum continued as I worked my way forward to 11th place. Unfortunately, disaster struck shortly afterwards. Exiting the right-hand hairpin, the kart suddenly lost power and came to a stop, forcing me to retire from the race.听 听听

鈥淏ack in the paddock, we began investigating the issue and discovered that the spark plug gap had completely closed. Further inspection of the piston crown revealed numerous impact marks, suggesting that debris had passed through the engine and damaged the spark plug. We quickly replaced the piston and worked against the clock to prepare the kart for the final, ultimately making it to the dummy grid just in time. However, the rushed turnaround meant we didn’t have sufficient time to adjust the carburettor for the changing track conditions.鈥�

Final

鈥淔or the final, the kart was running too rich due to the lack of time available to adjust the carburettor settings after the engine repair. Starting from eighth on the grid, I lost three places off the line. Throughout the race, the rich carburettor setting caused the engine to misfire on corner exits, making it difficult to accelerate cleanly and defend against attacks from behind. Despite the performance limitations, I managed to keep fighting throughout the race and brought the kart home in 11th position.

鈥淎lthough the weekend began with a difficult practice day, the new tyres transformed the kart on race day and allowed us to be competitive. We secured strong results in the opening heats, highlighted by a seventh-place finish in Heat 1 and an eighth-place finish in Heat 2.

鈥淭he DNF in Heat 3 was a major setback, but the team’s effort to diagnose the issue, replace the piston and get the kart back onto the grid for the final was exceptional. Despite being hampered by an overly rich carburettor setting in the final, we still managed to finish 11th and salvage valuable championship points from a challenging weekend.

Super 4 2026 British Championship Round 2: Forest Edge

Heat 1

鈥淪tarting from the second row, I got a strong launch and initially held position well. However, for the opening stages of the race I struggled badly with understeer, particularly through Midgets and Tilly鈥檚, which allowed a kart behind to get through and dropped me back to fifth place.

鈥淔rom there, the race became an intense battle for fourth. I spent virtually the entire heat tucked right under the rear bumper of the kart ahead, applying constant pressure and trying several different moves to find a way through. Despite a number of attempts, I just couldn鈥檛 make a pass stick and eventually crossed the line in fifth position.鈥�

Heat 2

鈥淟ining up 20th on the grid, I made a monster start and immediately gained several places by avoiding a couple of slow starters. By the first corner I had already climbed to 15th.

鈥淥n lap two I picked off two more karts, moving up into 13th, and from there the race became incredibly close. At the halfway point, positions fourth through to fourteenth were covered by just 10 seconds, showing how competitive the field was.

鈥淥n lap seven, I passed a slow-moving kart that appeared to be struggling with an issue, promoting me to 12th place. With two laps remaining, the kart behind managed to get a stronger run down the back straight and I lost the position again. The racing remained tight right to the flag in another highly competitive heat.

鈥淥n the final lap, a kart a couple of positions ahead spun on his own water, which shuffled the order once more in another hectic finish to an extremely close race.鈥�

Heat 3

鈥淚 made an immediate gain on lap one with a move at Haynes Loop, before pulling off another pass out of Midgets heading into Climate. Early on, we found ourselves in a long train of karts all being held up by fifth place.

鈥淟ater in the race, I lost two positions going into Midgets, dropping me back to 10th, but the pack remained tightly bunched behind the battling karts ahead. On the following lap, heading down into Winger鈥檚 Dip, sixth place made a move underneath fifth. That forced fifth place off-line and created an opening for several of us to get through, keeping us right in the middle of the battle.

鈥淔rom there I was fighting hard with the five karts ahead but, despite staying in the mix, I just couldn鈥檛 make a move stick.

鈥淭he race was eventually red-flagged with just under two minutes remaining after a kart went off entering Midgets 鈥� one of the fastest sections of the circuit, approached at around 95mph. Thankfully, the driver was okay.鈥�

Final

鈥淥ur heat results put us eighth on the grid for the final.

鈥淚n the early laps the understeer issues returned, as we again struggled to get the tyres working quickly enough. On lap two I lost a place coming out of Midgets, but a retirement ahead soon promoted us back into eighth.

鈥淔rom there, the race became a long battle for seventh with kart 59. I was slightly quicker in places and stayed right with him throughout the race, but despite the pressure I couldn鈥檛 quite find a way past. Towards the closing stages my tyres began to fade, although the two of us had managed to build a six-second gap back to ninth place.

鈥淥n the final lap, the race leader retired, which promoted us up to seventh position at the flag to round out the weekend.鈥�

Post-Race Analysis

鈥淚t was a solid weekend and the first in years where we had no issues on either Saturday or Sunday, with nothing to fix and the kart running well throughout.

鈥淎fter Round 2, the team sits 7th out of 24 in the championship standings.鈥�

Super 4 2026 British Championship Round 1 Fulbeck

“It was a challenging weekend at Fulbeck, where tricky conditions and engine management played a key role in the overall outcome.”

Heat 1 (Grid: 9th)

“The opening heat got off to a difficult start, dropping a position on the first lap. However, the pace quickly improved, gaining one place on lap two and another shortly after. Midway through the race, a position was lost again, resulting in a 9th place finish.

“Following the heat, changes were made to the kart to address a lack of power. The engine had been running on the rich side as a precaution, given previous reliability issues in the cold Fulbeck conditions. While this approach helped ensure engine longevity, it did compromise straight-line speed.”

Heat 2 (Grid: 5th)

“A strong start saw progress up to 3rd place in the early stages. Unfortunately, positions were lost during the middle phase of the race, eventually finishing in 6th. Despite this, the setup changes made after Heat 1 showed clear improvements, providing a positive step forward.”

Heat 3 (Grid: 12th)

“Starting from 12th on the grid, a solid opening lap gained two positions, moving up to 10th. From there, the race stabilised, maintaining position to the finish.”

Final

“Based on the heat results, we earnt a 10th place grid start out of 24 drivers. However, a grid issue meant starting from 12th, immediately putting the race on the back foot.

“At lights out, the kart lacked straight-line speed compared to earlier in the day, and two positions were lost heading into Turn 1. Settling into a tightly packed train of around seven karts, the race became highly competitive, especially while navigating backmarkers.

“With four laps remaining, drama unfolded ahead as two karts collided at the final corner. The kart directly ahead checked up to avoid the incident, resulting in slight contact, but both of us managed to exit the corner ahead of the incident without losing further positions鈥攃rucial given the poor run onto the main straight.

“In the closing stages, two more positions were gained, securing a 10th place finish after a hard-fought race.”

Post-Race Analysis

“Back in the paddock, it was discovered that only one side of the power valve was not functioning, costing an estimated 4bhp. Combined with the conservative rich engine setup, this explained the lack of straight-line performance throughout the day.

“Despite this, it was a positive outcome overall鈥攆inishing all races and, importantly, leaving Fulbeck with a reliable engine intact in notoriously difficult conditions.”

“After Round 1, the team sits 8th out of 24 in the standings鈥攁 solid foundation to build on.”

Heat 1 (Grid: 12th)

鈥淟ap 3 brought chaos out of Turn 3 onto the back straight; four karts tangled out of Turn 3 and suddenly I was threading my way through karts pointing all directions. Both me and Kart 27 had to back off to avoid the carnage, and I merged back into 8th. A few laps later, I tried to follow a couple of karts making a move on Kart 73 into the final corner. I dived up the inside too, but as he moved across, I clipped his rear tyre and ended up stuck on top of his kart for a few seconds.

That cost me two positions, dropping me to 10th with just two laps to go. I regrouped quickly, retook the two spots I had just lost, and crossed the line in 8th.鈥�

Heat 2 (Grid: 18th)

鈥淕ot off to a lightning start, darting past three karts into Turn 1. It was elbows out and chaotic, but I emerged in 13th 鈥� up five positions in just a few hundred meters. On Lap 3, I sent it up the inside into Turn 1 to grab 12th. A few laps later, I out-braked Kart 14 into the last corner, had the inside line, and powered past down the start/finish straight to move up to 11th. I was 2.6 seconds behind 10th at that stage, and managed to close the gap down to 1.4 seconds by the chequered flag.鈥�

Heat 3 (Grid: 4th)

鈥淭he weather turned just as we went onto the dummy grid 鈥� rain hammering down, forcing all 21 drivers to swap slicks for wets. We couldn鈥檛 touch the kart setup though, so it was wet tyres on a dry setup. On Lap 1, disaster nearly struck on the back straight: Kart 8 was stopped at 90 degrees across the track. As I approached, he crept forward slightly and I had to swerve onto the grass to avoid him. Another kart wasn鈥檛 so lucky and hit him square on, resulting in an ankle injury for that driver. From there, my kart was almost undriveable 鈥� no braking, no turn-in, and no traction out of the corners. I slipped backwards lap by lap, but wrestled it home in 10th.鈥�

Final

鈥淏ack in the paddock we finally got the kart set up for the wet, with a fresh set of tyres bolted on. Starting 9th on the grid in pouring rain, the kart felt much stronger. I latched onto the back of 8th, looking for a way past. But on Lap 4, heading down the start/finish straight, I hit standing water and aquaplaned. The kart snapped sideways, spinning me 360 degrees into the tyre barriers, then another 360 back onto the track. Luckily, I kept the engine alive and stayed in 1st gear, flooring it immediately to avoid getting collected in the spray by the chasing pack. The Battenburg flag was thrown so the marshals could rebuild the barriers I鈥檇 demolished. My kart still drove, but the front bumper was scraping the floor and the engine wasn鈥檛 delivering power smoothly. I suspected a cracked rear engine mount from the impact, but decided to push on. Despite the damage, I only lost five spots in the crash and restarted 14th. I fought as best as I could with the wounded kart, clawing back three positions to finish 11th.

鈥淲e finished in 8th place in the 2025 standings out of 20 drivers. The year had some highs and sometimes we were at the wrong place at the wrong time. We will work in the off season to come back fighting.听

Super 4 2025 British Championship Round 5 Fulbeck听

Heat 1 (Grid: 11^th)

鈥淔rom the very start, the kart didn鈥檛 feel right 鈥� we were clearly down on power and it felt like we were standing still as karts streamed past. After lap 7, disaster struck as the engine nipped up going into Turn 1, forcing us to retire from the race. Thanks to some excellent teamwork in the paddock, we managed to replace the engine and get everything ready in time for Heat 2.鈥�

Heat 2听(Grid: 7^th)

鈥淥ff the grid and down into Turn 1, I made up four places straight away, but as the pack bunched up ahead, I was forced off onto the grass and rejoined down in 17th. By lap 3, I鈥檇 worked back up to 14th, joining a close battle with the karts in 11^th 鈥� 13^th. For several laps, it was two-by-two down the start/finish straight, all of us fighting hard into Turn 1. After four laps of intense wheel-to-wheel action, I finally cleared the group to move into 11th. From there, I picked off another kart to reach 10th, and with two retirements ahead, I crossed the line in 8th. Given how the race started, it was a strong recovery.鈥�

Heat 3听(Grid: 5^th)

鈥淭he opening lap was physical, and I was shuffled around into Turn 1 but emerged in 7th place. I set about chasing down 6th and managed to out-brake them into Turn 1, moving up. With 5th place in my sights, I closed the gap but couldn鈥檛 quite get close enough to launch a move. Lapped traffic in the closing stages helped and hindered us, but ultimately, I brought it home in 6^th; a solid result.鈥�

Final (Grid: 10^th)

鈥淲e lined up 10th for the main final. By lap 3, I鈥檇 gained a position at the Bus Stop and was part of a huge battle for 7^th 鈥� 12^th, with all of us nose-to-tail. On lap 9, a kart ahead dropped water at the entry of the bus stop. The kart in 7th span on it, and with the pack running so close together, we all piled into the incident. Stuck for over 20 seconds, our race was effectively ruined. Once back on track I pushed hard to the flag, but could only manage 13th at the finish.

鈥淭he next round is the final round of the championship at Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire. Massive shoutout to Raymond and Jason for all the hard work over the weekend and getting the engine replaced between heats.鈥�

Super 4 2025 British Championship Round 3 Shenington

Heat 1 (Grid: 7^th)

鈥淎 tough start saw me drop five positions off the line due to getting boxed in with nowhere to go. I managed to recover one spot immediately with a move into Turn 1. Later that lap, going into Stratford, 11th place collided with 10th from behind, sending them both off the circuit and promoting me further up the order. With two laps to go, another kart went off at Bruno, and on the final corner of the last lap, drama unfolded as a kart dropped water onto the track before retiring. Two others spun off as a result, while I kept it clean and crossed the line in a solid 6th place.鈥�

Heat 2听(Grid: 15^th)

鈥淥ff the start, there was an incident with a few karts and one kart rolled over bring out the red flags immediately. Thankfully the driver involved was ok and made it out for heat 3. On the full restart a strong opening lap saw me make a move at Caf茅 Corner and gain five more positions across the lap. Mid-race, I got a great exit out of Grandstand, allowing me to out-brake the kart ahead into Stratford and move into 9th. Two laps from the end, a retirement ahead bumped me up once more, and I finished the heat in 8th place.鈥�

Heat 3听(Grid: 9^th)

鈥淚 started well, making a pass exiting Grandstand onto the straight. Despite my pace, I got stuck behind another kart and just couldn’t find a way past. On the penultimate lap, chaos unfolded at the final corner when the kart in front of me misjudged his braking. He avoided the kart directly ahead but ended up hitting the one two places up, spinning him around. I capitalized on the incident and moved up two places, finishing 9th, exactly where I started.鈥�

Final

鈥淢id-way through the race, I lost a position into Stratford. In the closing stages, the kart began to develop some issues, and I had to defend hard. On the last lap, I hugged the inside heading into Stratford, forcing the driver behind to attempt an outside move. He lost control and spun off on the inside of me, allowing me to maintain my position and finish the final in 9th place.

鈥淲e are at Rowrah in Cumbria for the next round of the British Championship at the end of June and we are running in 6th place in the championship.听

Heat 1 (Grid: 2nd)

鈥淥ff the line I didn鈥檛 make a good start from the front row, but also the 3rd-place driver didn鈥檛 either, so I didn鈥檛 lose a position luckily.

鈥淎t the beginning of the race, the kart was going well, but mid-way through developed some hop coming out of Bruno, this hindered us and we dropped back to 5th and just managed to finish ahead of 6th place.

鈥淎fter the race, we came to the conclusion that the tyres were too hot for the start. I did two burn outs to the grid like I have always, but with these new tyres (which have more grip) and the track temperature being a lot higher than we have experienced this season so far, the tyres gripped too much which caused the kart to bog down.鈥�

Heat 2 (Grid: 13th)

鈥淢ade a better start and made up a position as we went through the Cafe Corner, and held it going through grandstand and down Stratford Straight.

鈥淥n Lap 3, there was a crash which cause damage to the tyre barrier, this brought out the Battenberg flag which means slow down and effectively the leader becoming a safety car.

鈥淲e had the Battenberg flag for three laps as the marshals repaired the tyre barrier. On the restart, we made up a position, moving us up to 11th, and with two laps to go one of the karts ahead of us made a mistake going off the circuit and I managed to get by him before he re-joined the circuit and just finished ahead of him finishing in 10th place.鈥�

Heat 3 (Grid: 10th)

鈥淥n the first lap, the kart I was following was losing water and as we exited Bruno Chicane, the top radiator pipe blew off and coolant went all over the kart and myself.

鈥淚 took a tear-off so had clear vision but the coolant was over the pedals and boots so when I wanted to brake my foot was sliding off the brake pedal not allowing the correct pressure on the pedal. With this we finished in the same place as we started.鈥�

Final

鈥淚 lined up in 9th for the final but was down to 13th in Lap 1. After the second lap, we had moved up two more positions to 11th, and on Lap 3, was on the back of 10th who was in a battle with 9th 鈥� it then became a three-way battle for 9th.

鈥淔or the next four laps, we were jostling for positions and going into Stratford Hairpin, they came together in the braking zone and one of them went off the circuit and it was then a two-kart battle for 9th. Due to the time stuck in the battle, 8th was too far ahead.

鈥淚 tried numerous times to dive into Stratford Hairpin, but just couldn鈥檛 make it stick. Also tried a few times around the outside going into the first corner but on one occasion he pushed me off the circuit there. I kept trying so he thought that鈥檚 where I was going to pass him but on the following lap, I dived up the inside of turn one and then pulled out seven seconds on him in the last three laps finishing in 9th鈥�.

鈥淲e were happy with the weekend 鈥� not necessarily the results, but that we improved our lap times in every session on the Saturday and in the heats and final on the Sunday by getting the kart and myself better. We are sitting 5th in the standings heading into the next round at Three Sisters in Greater Manchester on June 23-24.鈥�

鈥淩ound 3 was held at Shenington, one of Chase’s favourite tracks. With a grid of 14 Junior Pro Karts, Chase knew it was going to be a tough race, but as usual, as soon as that helmet went on, he just sent it!

鈥淨ualifying went well, and the heats produced top-five positions, which meant he started the final in P4.

鈥淎fter a chaotic start, with 14 karters vying for the same piece of tarmac, Chase held position and was setting fast laps. He was finding it hard to get past P5, until he pounced with a couple of laps to go and got P4. With the move made, due to being held up, P1, P2 and P3 were too far down the road to go further. Chase was over the moon. It was made even better due to a driver being disqualified, meaning Chase got P3 and took home a trophy.”
