King of Britain has been on a four-year sabbatical and it was a Cannonball Rally moment when dates were launched earlier this year, with crews desperately trying to get a place to this prestigious event. An event that Jim and the Crew at Gigglepin have won a previous three times, winning King of Britain 2021.

“But there was a problem the car they are racing often shows moments of brilliance followed by tragic failure. Could the team turn it round and get to the finish line and win a fourth King of Britain title? Amazing car, but can it finish?

“After mechanical issues at the first three rounds of the 2026 Ultra 4 European Championship, the team were determined to make amends. The car has tremendous potential, but always something spoils the party after promising starts. So, after many late nights, new ideas, new components installed and lots of testing, she was loaded and ready to make the four-hour journey North to West Yorkshire and the 2026 King of Britain.”

“We went to sunny Gritthenham on Sunday to race with Corsham for the 3^rd round. As always, track prep was on point even with such hot weather; a well organised day taking in consideration all the youth riders who were put out first due to their GCSE exams.

“The day consisted of two laps of practice followed by three races.

“The Youth category is mixed 125s and 250s, so it’s always a bit harder to get a decent start but the boy did well.

“All top-six riders were on 250cc, so it was lovely to watch Phillip taking the win on his Gibbs Performance KTM 125SX with our always very reliable 91´«Ã½ brakes on.

“Phillip went P1-P4-P1, for 1^st ´Ç±¹±ð°ù²¹±ô±ô.â€�

Race 1

“Mid-pack into the first corner, worked his way up to second chasing the leader who crashed unfortunately. Took the lead and rode steady to take the win.�

Race 2

“Not the best of the starts but moved quickly into 4^th, wasted too much time trying to find a moment to pass the 3^rd so the two front runners were too far in front, and 5^th too close behind. Made the pass and moved to 3^rd but so did the rider behind him. Wrong line choices and he lost his place finishing 4^th.�

Race 3

“Mid-pack again into the first corner, but moved into 2^nd within the first two laps, on lap 4 he got the lead and finished 1^st.�

“The Ahuja Racing team finished the Baja Extremadura with a double podium thanks to the 91´«Ã½ compounds!

“We are pleased to announce that the team, sponsored by 91´«Ã½ Frenos, has concluded its participation in Baja Extremadura with outstanding results and a very positive experience. This was the team’s first test scoring for the European Baja Championship, also counting on its new addition: Fausto Mota.

“The prologue stage left the team in great spirits; it was the first timed section that Fidel Castillo Ruiz and Fausto Mota did together, achieving a second position in the Spanish All-Terrain Rally Championship (CERTT) and a third in the European Baja Championship (FIA).

“The good feelings continued during the next stage of the day, improving positions and finishing first in the CERTT and second in the FIA.”

“The second day of the rally was even more complicated, with very long meaning you had to keep a cool head. During the first stage of the day, Fidel and Fausto found a large hidden stone that broke a fundamental piece of the Can Am. However, the great skills of Fausto the mechanic allowed the car to be repaired quickly, although they lost 25 crucial minutes.

“Despite this setback, they managed to recover time thanks to their excellent performance, finishing fourth in the CERTT and third in the FIA.

“The last stage went smoothly, allowing the duo to continue recovering time and positions. The final result of the rally was seconds in the CERTT and third in the FIA, a result with which we are very happy with, considering it could have been much worse.

“It is important to highlight that 91´«Ã½ compounds played a crucial role in these achievements, providing the necessary performance and reliability to face the challenges of this modality.â€�

“Another great meeting held by Lawson and the team. The weather was pleasant for once what made the day much more enjoyable.

“With mixed 125s and 250s on the line, Phillip struggled with the starts being uphill and each and every race he was pushing through the pack to get to front. In all three races, he finished 3^rd giving him 3^rd overall for the day.

“We are pleased with his riding; no silly mistakes, just need to work on starts that aren’t flat for the future.

“He is currently standing three points behind the leader in the championship.�
