The Brook-Built team relies on 91´«Ã½ XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on their race bikes

Russell Brook and the Brook-Built racing team have been busy across UK competing at various motorcycle race meetings, including the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit, the Barry Sheene Classic at Oliver’s Mount and the Isle of Man’s Southern 100 event.

The outfit continues to use 91´«Ã½ Racing’s XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads during his competitive outings.

We next caught up with Brook off the back of the BHRC Darley Moor race in Derbyshire, where more podiums were clinched after impressive rides on a classic Honda CB350 K4.

You can read how the weekend panned out in Russell’s own words below…

“Brook Built Racing competed at the British Historic Racing Club meeting at Darley Moor on 18–19 July aboard the A Read Associates Ltd. Honda CB350 K4.

“This was a late change to our racing programme. Our original plan had been to compete at Scarborough on the SuperTwin, but following the incident at the Southern 100, the bike required more extensive repairs than initially anticipated. Rather than compromise the preparation, we elected to switch our entry to Darley Moor and focus on the Honda CB350.

“Darley Moor is a circuit I have very limited experience of, having only raced there once previously in 1993. With minimal recent track time, the weekend became one of steadily building confidence and improving pace.

“A special thank-you goes to Grahame Collinge for his invaluable support throughout the meeting, and to Andy Read for both his assistance in the paddock and the opportunity to race the Honda.

“As is often the case with classic machinery, reliability became part of the story. In Race 1, while running in a strong third place, a spark plug worked loose, causing the engine to run lean and ultimately melting the plug. Although disappointing, it was encouraging to know we were already running at the front of the field while still learning the circuit.

“With replacement spark plugs sourced by Andy, Grahame and I completed a trackside thread repair to get the bike back into action. It was far from an ideal paddock repair, but it enabled us to continue the meeting and gather valuable championship points.”

“The remainder of the weekend showed consistent progress:

“Race 2: 3rd in class, 5th overall, while improving lap times by approximately two seconds.

“Race 3: Another 3rd in class, closing significantly on the race leaders and finding a further two-second improvement.

“Race 4: Our pace earned a front-row start in P3. A close four-bike battle for the lead developed between two 350s and two 500s, producing some excellent racing. We finished 2nd in class and 3rd overall, crossing the line just 1.5 seconds behind the winner.

“To improve by around four seconds over the course of the weekend, despite limited circuit experience and overcoming mechanical issues, was an encouraging result and demonstrates both the potential of the Honda and the continued progress of the team.

“Our focus now turns to preparations for the Classic TT, where I will be making my debut while competing on both the A Read Associates Ltd. Honda CB350 and the OC Graphics Kawasaki ZX400.

“Finally, thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters. Your backing allows us to continue competing, developing the bikes, and representing your businesses at race meetings throughout the season. Your support is genuinely appreciated, and we look forward to updating you again after the Classic TT.â€

The seven racers secured crucial points in the fourth round of 2026

The Yamaha GV Racing outfit currently supports seven motorcycle racers that are taking part in the FIM JuniorGP – the exciting series that spans Italy, Portgual and Spain.

Backed by Yamaha itself, as well as 91´«Ã½ Frenos (Spain), the team’s racers are proudly using 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX brake pads and X-Series floating discs for the season.

We previously caught up with the team following the first round of the year at Estoril. Next, we dropped in after the most recent round at Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit in France. You can read how it panned out in the team’s own words below.

“GV Racing has just competed in Round 4 of the FIM MotoJunior™, held this weekend at the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit, after an intense day of racing in the Moto2 European Championship and Stock European Championship categories.

“In Moto2 European Championship, Marcos Uriarte played the two races of the weekend. In the first round he crossed the finish line in the 25th position, while in the second race he managed to finish in the 22nd position, completing a weekend in which the rider and the team continued to work to continue evolving and accumulating experience in a top-level category.”

“In the Stock European Championship, Blai Trias starred in a solid performance, ending the race in a meritorious 6th position, adding an important result for the team after staying throughout the test fighting in the leading group.

“For his part, Jordi Losada managed to complete the race in the 19th position. After the fall suffered during Saturday’s qualifying session, the GV Racing driver returned to the track with the aim of finishing the race and continuing to add kilometres and experience in a very competitive category.”

Statements by Rafa García – Team Manager

“We ended a weekend of hard work in which the team has not stopped fighting at any time. Marcos has continued to grow in Moto2 and has completed two races that will help him continue evolving. Blai has had a great race getting a very worked sixth position, while Jordi knew how to overcome Saturday’s fall to finish the test and continue adding experience.”

“I want to thank the effort of the whole team during these days at Magny-Cours. Now it’s time to analyse everything you’ve learned, continue working and prepare for the next championship appointment with the illusion of continuing to grow and fighting for better results.”

“With this result, GV Racing closes its passage through Magny-Cours with valuable information to continue developing the sports project before the next appointment of the FIM MotoJuniorâ„¢, where the team will compete again with the same ambition and commitment that characterises it.â€

The Brook-Built team relies on 91´«Ã½ XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on their race bikes

Russell Brook and the Brook-Built racing team have been busy across UK competing at various motorcycle race meetings, including: the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit and the Barry Sheene Classic at Oliver’s Mount.

We next caught up with Brook following the much-loved Southern 100 event back on the Isle of Man, where some setbacks didn’t deter him from achieving great finishes.

The outfit continues to use 91´«Ã½ Racing’s XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads during his competitive outings. You can read how the above races panned out in Russell’s own words below…

“What a week of racing at the Southern 100 on the Isle of Man!

“The weather was kind to us for most of the event, but as anyone involved in road racing knows, there’s always something that tests you along the way.

“This year I competed in two middleweight classes, the SuperTwin and the Supersport, giving me plenty of track time and valuable opportunities to build confidence and improve my pace around the Billown Course.

“Monday evening’s practice went exactly to plan. I completed two sessions on the Supersport and one on the SuperTwin, improving my lap times every time I went out and getting both bikes working well.”

“Tuesday evening proved to be much more challenging. The plan was to complete two SuperTwin sessions before finishing with the Supersport, but after just two strong laps on the SuperTwin I was unfortunately taken out by another rider at Balabeg.

“A huge thank you to all the marshals, medics and spectators who looked after me. From making sure I was fit to continue, arranging transport back to the paddock, and even providing cold drinks and phones so I could let the team know I was okay, the support was incredible. Moments like this really highlight what makes the road racing community so special.

“The incident created a race against the clock. The SuperTwin required significant repairs, there wasn’t enough time to prepare for the final practice session, and I had to sit that one out. Thankfully, Monday’s pace had been enough to secure qualification, putting me 22nd on the SuperTwin grid and 21st for the Supersport B Race.

“After a late night in the paddock, the team worked tirelessly to rebuild the SuperTwin and have it race-ready for Wednesday evening.

“Starting from around two-thirds down the grid made clean getaways difficult in the mass starts, but both races were encouraging. I finished 20th in the SuperTwin race and 17th in the Supersport race, while finding around four seconds per lap compared with my qualifying pace on both machines.

“Thursday brought the main race day, beginning with the Supersport B Race before the SuperTwin feature later in the afternoon.”

“In the Supersport race I maintained my position throughout much of the race, improved my lap times again, and crossed the finish line in 20th after another strong performance.

“Later, on the SuperTwin, I made what felt like my best start of the week, gaining several places in the opening laps while continuing to reduce my lap times. It felt like my strongest ride of the meeting, so I was a little surprised to finish 21st, but the overall progress made throughout the week was hugely encouraging. Every outing brought faster lap times, giving us a solid platform to build on for next year’s event.

“A massive thank you goes to everyone who helped make the week possible. Grahame Collinge, who worked tirelessly to keep both bikes fuelled, prepared, through scrutineering and on the grid every session. Andy Fenton, for your endless support and invaluable local knowledge throughout the week. And my teammate Ben Long, for all your help and encouragement both on and off the track.

“I’d also like to say a huge thank you to 91´«Ã½ for providing the confidence and outstanding stopping power needed to push hard around the Billown Course, and to Aztec Oils for supplying products that kept both bikes running reliably throughout a demanding week of racing. Having dependable equipment makes a huge difference at events like this, and I’m incredibly grateful for their continued support.

“Road racing is never straightforward, but after overcoming Tuesday’s setback, rebuilding the bike and continuing to improve every time I headed out, I’ll take plenty of positives away from this year’s Southern 100.â€

Following more podiums at Cadwell Park, we next caught up with Creasey after his latest round at Snetterton, where more podiums were achieved in another successful weekend.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Finally, a weekend to smile about!

“100% race completion, some decent results, and most importantly, confidence back on the bikes. Hopefully we’ve finally turned a corner.â€

Qualifying (Starting P4)

“Throughout the weekend, I struggled with the brakes overheating and the pads glazing, but this was the first time I’ve properly raced the 750 without any mechanical issues.:

Race 1

“A solid race, but I couldn’t quite stay with the riders ahead. Finished P4.â€

Race 2

“I got a great launch before a red flag brought the race to a halt. On the restart I made another strong start and stayed with the leader, but just didn’t quite have enough to make a move. Finished P2.â€

Race 3

“Another great start saw me lead into Turn 1. I expected the 1000cc bikes to out-drag me down the back straight, but the 750 held its own. By lap 3 the brakes were becoming a real struggle, but thankfully I’d built enough of a gap to manage it. Finished P1.â€

Race 4

“As I was still struggling with the brakes, we swapped them over before the final race, which made a huge difference. Another strong start saw me battling with Tyler for the opening laps, swapping positions several times before I finally took the lead. From there I pushed on and took the win by 9.185 seconds.

“I always believed the 750 could be competitive in Thunderbike Ultra, but coming to Snetterton with its long straights, I expected the 1000s to have a clear advantage. I’m really pleased to have been proven wrong – the bike was more than capable of holding its own.

“Overall, I’m really happy with how the weekend went. It was great to feel confident again and to come away with consistent finishes, podiums and a pair of wins.

“Now it’s on to Donington Park on 25th & 26th July.â€

Oliver Charlesworth uses XC discs and GPFAX pads for his road racing campaigns

Experienced bike racer, Oliver Charlesworth, competes in a wide variety of prestigious road racing championships each year.

Charlesworth has recently upgraded to run 91´«Ã½â€™ XC discs and GPFAX pads on his Aprilia RS660 and Triumph 765 superbikes. Following promising results from the Bob Smith Spring Cup, we next caught up with Charlesworth after the next round at Scarborough’s Oliver’s Mount back in June, where podiums and wins came his way across a very positive weekend.

Read all about it in his own words below…

“A really positive weekend overall with plenty to take away!

“On the Aprilia RS660, we brought home a solid P10 in the opening race. Things got interesting before we even got going when a rider broke down on the start line, leaving me with nowhere to go and costing me valuable time. I kept my head down, stayed focused, and fought back to finish 10th.

“Sunday was where the Aprilia really came alive. We had some brilliant battles throughout the first race, but I was really struggling to get the bike stopped under braking, making it difficult to attack into the corners. Before the final race, we fitted a fresh set of 91´«Ã½ Racing brake pads, and the transformation was incredible. The confidence under braking came straight back, allowing me to brake later, carry more speed into the turns and race the bike properly. We finished the day with two P8 finishes, and it was a fantastic reminder of just how much difference quality braking performance makes. A huge thank you to 91´«Ã½ for supplying products that perform when it matters most. Proud to have them supporting the team!â€

“The Triumph 765 had a tougher start to the weekend. An oil leak in qualifying meant we were just outside the qualifying time, putting us 4th on the grid for the Support Race.

“In that race, I made a move up the inside into Turn 1 on lap 3, but another rider turned in and we had a coming together. Thankfully we both stayed upright, although I dropped back to 8th. I dug deep, worked my way back through the field, and came home with a P3 podium finish.Ìý

“Sunday couldn’t have gone much better!

“Because the Triumph race from Saturday had been cancelled following three separate red flags, we lined up 2nd on the grid for the rescheduled race. I got a great start and settled into 2nd place, keeping the pressure on the race leader. A few laps in, the leader made a small mistake and ran wide. I was in exactly the right place to take advantage, slipped through into the lead, and never looked back. It certainly wasn’t an easy race, but it was an enjoyable one, and taking my first win on the Triumph 765 made all the hard work worthwhile.Ìý

“A massive thank you to 91´«Ã½, all my sponsors, supporters, family and everyone who continues to back us. Every lap we’re learning more about both bikes, and the results are starting to show. Time to get everything prepared for the next meeting!â€

The Brook-Built team relies on 91´«Ã½ XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on their race bikes

Following a season in NLR’s SuperTwins in 2025, as well as various Manx/Isle of Man TT races, we previously caught up with Russell Brook and the Brook-Built racing team following their debutant race for 2026: the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit.

Since then, Brook and co have been back on the road racing scene, entering a classic Honda CB350 K4 in the Barry Sheene Classic at Oliver’s Mount and the Road Racing New Classic Solo. They were also back on the 91´«Ã½-Equipped Yamaha R6 for the Pub & Kitchens Twin race.

The outfit continues to use 91´«Ã½ Racing’s XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads during his competitive outings. You can read how the above races panned out in Russell’s own words below…

Barry Sheene Classic – Oliver’s Mount

“The Barry Sheene Classic at Oliver’s Mount provided another fantastic opportunity to race both the A Read Associates Ltd Honda CB350K4 and my own Brook Built Racing SuperTwin. Joining me for the weekend was Ben Long, competing aboard the Brook Built Racing Yamaha YZF-R6.

“We were treated to fantastic weather throughout the entire event, which is a rarity at Oliver’s Mount and made for excellent racing conditions all weekend.

“Practice began positively, with three laps completed on each bike to get settled into the demanding road circuit. Qualifying followed, with strong results across the board. The Brook Built Racing SuperTwin was qualified in 10th position, while the Honda CB350K4 secured second in class and was the leading 350cc machine on the grid. Ben also qualified successfully for the main 600 Supersport race on the Yamaha R6.â€

Road Racing New Classic Solo – Honda CB350K4

“Race 1 saw me make a good start and settle into second place early on. Maintaining a consistent pace throughout, I held the position all the way to the chequered flag.

“Race 2 was another strong outing. After another good start, I maintained solid pace throughout the race and was rewarded with the class victory.

“Race 3 proved to be another textbook race. A strong performance resulted in a second-place finish, which was enough to secure the overall New Classic Solo class victory for the weekend.â€

Pub & Kitchen Twins – Brook Built Racing SuperTwin

“Race 1 got underway with a good start, and after a competitive race I brought the bike home in 8th position.

“In Race 2, the start wasn’t quite as strong, but I settled into a solid rhythm and worked my way to an 11th-place finish.

“Race 3 was unfortunately less straightforward. I was boxed in approaching the first corner and lost several positions. The race was subsequently red-flagged, but while making my way back to the grid the bike cut out, preventing me from taking the restart and resulting in a non-start for the final race.â€

HM Civils Supersport – Yamaha YZF-R6

“My teammate, Ben Long, enjoyed a successful weekend aboard the Brook Built Racing Yamaha YZF-R6. Competing in the highly competitive HM Civils Supersport class, Ben continued to improve throughout the event, beating his previous best lap times around Oliver’s Mount. His efforts were rewarded with consistent finishes of 18th, 21st, and 19th in the three Supersport races, marking another positive step forward in his road racing development.â€

Thanks

“Both bikes performed faultlessly throughout the weekend, running and stopping perfectly with Aztec Oils Endurance 10W/50 engine oil and 91´«Ã½ GPFAX brake pads.

“A massive thank you goes to all of our sponsors and supporters who continue to make our racing possible. Your backing is greatly appreciated and plays a huge part in every result achieved on track.

“We now look forward to the next event and building on a successful weekend at The Southern 100.â€

Max Symonds uses 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in the British Superbike Championship’s National Superstock category for a number of years.

The rider, who also won Castle Combe Circuit’s NG Road Racing ‘King of Combe’ race in 2025, switched from his Yamaha R1 to a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade last year, continuing to use this bike and its 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs setup for the 2026 season.

Following some extensive testing at the start of the year across Europe and a guest race to warm himself up for the BSB season, we next caught up with Symonds after he’d completed the first two rounds of BSB at Oulton Park and Donington Park respectively.

Things were looking promising for the year ahead from the word go, until Symonds had an unfortunate fall on the third lap of the Donington Park race, causing injuries and putting him out of action for the next few rounds.

You can read all about it below in his own words…

“As always, the start of the BSB season was hectic!

“The level of competition in the BSB National Superstock class is incredibly high, with British Superbike race winners, Isle of Man TT winners, World Endurance riders, and leading British Superbike teams all on the grid. On top of this, there is always a wave of young, up-and-coming riders joining the class each season as they look to progress through the BSB paddock.

“This creates a field of more than 40 riders, all capable of setting extremely fast lap times. The gap between the very fastest riders and those towards the back is often only two to three seconds, meaning that even a minor mistake or slight lack of pace can cost multiple positions.

“In addition to this, the bikes are becoming more and more powerful. The top Superstock machines, BMW M 1000 RR and Honda Fireblade, produce over 220 bhp as standard. As a result, riders are often lapping only slightly slower than full spec Superbikes while having much less track time and far fewer race-specific parts.

“It’s a common view within UK paddocks is that the National Superstock Championship is one of the most competitive series in all of Europe because the field is so deep and the machinery is so evenly matched.â€

Oulton Park

“The first round was held at Oulton Park, which is considered one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar due to its steep elevation changes, blind corners, and narrow layout that leaves no room for error. This made for an especially demanding start to the season and despite improving my personal best from 2024 by a full second, I still wasn’t fast enough to challenge for points.â€

Donington Park

“Donington Park quickly followed for Round 2. This weekend brought a new challenge, with every type of weather imaginable being thrown at us: sunshine, cold and windy conditions, heavy rain, and damp, drying track conditions.

“I was able to make the most of the conditions whenever I was on track and secured a safe qualifying position just outside the top 20, with good pace and a realistic chance of fighting for points in the race.

“Unfortunately, on lap three, having just made a pass on another rider through the Esses, I entered the penultimate corner of the lap, the Melbourne Hairpin. Eager to stay ahead of the rider behind and challenge the group in front, I got on the throttle too aggressively and spun the rear tyre. The result was a massive highside that launched me into the air before slamming me back onto the track, ending my race just as it was getting started.

“I was fortunate not to be hit by any of the riders behind. Unfortunately, during the crash I hit my left leg hard on the ground, breaking both my ankle and leg in the process.

“After being assessed by the medical team at the circuit, I travelled back to my local hospital for surgery. The operation went well, and I am now focused on my recovery and getting back to full fitness as quickly as possible.â€
